A critical component of IEI’s work in Nepal is to de-stigmatize mental health issues among adolescents and improve their access to mental health services. To achieve this objective, IEI Nepal in collaboration with the Center for Mental Health and Counseling (CMC) Nepal, launched an intervention in February 2022 to provide mental health support and counselling to adolescents, as well as support sessions for parents. The video below provides a snapshot of the positive impact the intervention has had on students, including on their education engagement and confidence. This is further evidenced by testimonials from parents, teachers, and school leaders. Government counterparts have also shown great support for this work and consider it a critical element for helping reduce student dropouts.
