The Inclusive Education Initiative (IEI) recently celebrated its 2nd anniversary with ‘Share n Learn’ Session Series that focused on several of the essential learnings that have emerged from the activities and research conducted under the IEI trust fund. Some of these learnings have become guiding principles for IEI’s current and future work. These include:
including the voices of stakeholders and persons with disabilities,
creating strategic partnerships and promoting collaboration,
aggregating and sharing knowledge on shared platforms, and
applying a social inclusion lens to disability-inclusive education.
These learnings have guided the conversations and presentations that shaped our ‘Share n Learn’ Series which consisted of sessions on disability-inclusive teaching, remote learning for children with disabilities during COVID-19 school closures, the importance of applying a social inclusion lens to disability-inclusive education, and financing trends in disability-inclusive education.
Each session was rich with information from experts in their fields and was accompanied by contributions from participants, including questions that provoked further discussion, resources from key stakeholders in this sector, and a commitment to do more with the information presented. At the links below you can replay the events and read summaries of the sessions.
