Global Partnership for Education Financing Summit - Side Event
Responding to the challenge of enabling education system actors to promote inclusive education for children with disabilities, the World Bank’s Trust Funds on Disability-Inclusive Education (Inclusive Education Initiative-IEI and Disability Inclusive Education in Africa Program) seek to address the complex task of operationalizing inclusive education in low-income country contexts.
The Trust Funds employ a unique approach to mainstreaming quality inclusive education by funding small grants to facilitate catalytic change in larger World Bank Investment Financing Projects (IPFs) and supporting the research and creation of global knowledge products to inform the practice of inclusion of children with disabilities better.
This side-session will bring together stakeholders, implementors, governments, donors, civil society, and practitioners to critically engage in a discussion around the purpose, process, and implementation modalities of the two trust funds, and how education actors can be best supported to ensure that no one is left behind.
